You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. Psalm 119.114
LORD, you know I have a lot of stories. Some are funny, even hilarious, like the time I passed a car with two guys wearing the same cowboy hats, or the time I drove through the drive-thru at Chick-fil-a.
But some stories haven’t been hilarious at all. Some stories I tell myself are: “You’ll never be good enough,” or “You’ll never amount to anything,” or “Why do you even try?”
I read in my Bob Goff devotional today that we tend to be shaped by the stories we tell ourselves. If I continually tell myself I’m a “failure”, eventually I will be a failure. But here’s the truth: I might have failed at things in my life but that does not define who I am. Why? Because I have HOPE!
I have hope in you, LORD! And, I am looking for opportunities to share that hope with others along the way. Thank you, LORD, for the encouragement and hope through Your Word. Amen
