This was my first mission trip. The Lord had prompted me to serve the people of Central and South America, so some friends, David and Geralyn, and I found an opportunity. The place is a ghetto area of Guatemala City, Guatemala, called La Limonada. I was very naïve then; I had it as me changing them – God knew it would change me and my heart. This is also where I fell in love with taking photos of people and their culture.
The below images are the inspiration for this site. My heart was changed on that first mission trip to Guatemala. God prepared the way for me, too. I will write more of my trip in other posts but for now I’d just like to present the images that have remained on my heart all these years.

I used an early model of a Canon Rebel. And I don’t even know what lens I used. I have upgraded since these pictures were taken, but the people in the photos still hold a special place in my heart.
