Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD."
Jeremiah 9:23-24
What person does not like attention? As babies, we cry to get food or changed. The “terrible twos” are all about – me – me – me. I won’t even talk about the teenage years. But as adults, do we outgrow the need for attention? We talk louder, exaggerate, and boast about our accomplishments to no end. All for attention.
Deep inside each of us, there is a need to be known. But, there is someone that does know each of us. God, our Father, knows each one of us even better than we know ourselves. Here’s a challenge – start a conversation with Him. See where it goes.
