Thanksgiving

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100

Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I’ve been thinking about what I am thankful for this year. Most of the time, I complain more about what I don’t have than being “thankful” for what I do have. But, even the way I give thanks is wrong. I tend to give thanks for the created things in my life without being thankful for the Creator, Himself.

This year I will be different! I give thanks to God, the Father; God, the Son; and, God, the Holy Spirit:

Thank you, LORD, Father! Thank you for my life and your love that endures forever. I cannot even imagine what it will be like to live in your presence in eternity. I give thanks for your inspired Word that gives me an intro.

Thank you, LORD, Jesus Christ! Thank you for giving your life for mine, even though it is not my own but yours, now. Thank you for knowing me before the world began and dying for me on the Cross, saving me from destruction.

Thank you, LORD, Holy Spirit! Thank you for your indwelling within me and for guiding me each day. Thank you for the grace that covers me when I fall. Thank you for your presence, even when I do not feel it.

My prayer is to continue to grow in your Spirit and acknowledge You in everything that comes my way – every day. Amen.
